75TH Anniversary of United Nations (BNC)

André Letria e Luc Luycx

"In 1945, representatives from 50 countries met in San Francisco to draft the Charter of the United Nations, which was to be ratified on 24 October of the same year, founding the United Nations (UN). Currently, with 193 member states and the Portuguese man António Guterres as Secretary General, the UN pursues its mission guided by the purposes and principles enshrined in its founding charter, seeking understandings and measures in favour of humanity's greatest issues, such as peace and security, climate change, sustainable development, human rights, humanitarian aid, and many others. To mark the 75th anniversary of this international organisation, Casa da Moeda has minted a commemorative circulation coin, created by illustrator André Letria."
