ONLINE SHOP TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A. USE OF THE SERVICE
- The Customer undertakes to use this online purchase service of products of the Imprensa Nacional – Casa da Moeda, S. A. (INCM) by complying with the applicable legislation in force, as well as the “Terms and Conditions” set forth herein.
- INCM may, at all times, change, in whole or in part, the “Terms and Conditions” herein and their updated version shall always remain available on our website.
- The Customer may not change the content of the Service or send messages that contain computer viruses or that can cause any other damages.
- Online shop customers are considered final consumers, subject to VAT liquidation, with the exception of residents of countries outside the European Union.
- The sale of products through the Online Shop is subject to the compliance with the regulations set by Law No. 83/2017 of 18 August, which establishes measures to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, partly transposes Directives (EU) 2015/849 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2015 and (EU) 2016/2258 of the Council of 6 December 2016, amends the Criminal Code and the Industrial Property Code and repeals Law No 25/2008 of 5 June and Decree-Law No. 125/2008 of 21 July.
- The delivery of products purchased at the online shop complies with the legal rules applicable in Portugal to the exercise of distance trading, according to the provisions of Decree-Law No. 24/2014 of 14 February, as amended by Law No. 47/2014 of 28 July and by Decree-Law No. 78/2018 of 15 October.
B. ONLINE SHOP PRODUCTS
- Products suitably identified in their specific catalogues can be purchased in the shop online.
- If a product is not available in the shop online it does not mean that it is out of stock in the INCM; it may be available through another distribution channel of the company
C. PRICES
- The prices shown in the catalogue include VAT at the current rate at the time of purchase, to which the respective postage costs are added.
- The price of products, the value of VAT and the postage costs are duly displayed before the final validation phase of the purchase.
- Any other costs resulting from shipping packages abroad, including customs clearance costs, will be the sole responsibility of the product buyer.
- INCM informs that prices charged and made available are from this channel of INCM and may differ from prices charged in INCM’s physical stores.
D. ORDER
- To order a product, chosen from the existing in the product catalogue, it must be placed in the shopping basket.
- For some products, properly identified in the shop online, the purchase may be limited to a certain number of items per customer up to the available stock limit.
- The customer may cancel the order by completing the form available on this channel within 24 hours after the INCM has received confirmation of the order payment.
- The request for cancellation will only become effective when the order’s number and the customer’s name are indicated.
- Within 30 days of the product delivery, the customer has the right to terminate the contract by returning the articles, without the need to indicate the reason thereof and without any costs, being reimbursed by INCM of the total value of the order, except as provided in paragraph 8 (eight) of this document.
- The right to freely terminate the contract may be exercised in accordance with paragraph 5, by actual return of the article and by sending to the e-mail address incm@incm.pt an unequivocal statement of the intention to return the article indicating: the customer identification (name, geographic address and e-mail address); identification of the article, order number, and date of reception of the article, as well as the customer’s signature if this statement is delivered in paper form.
- Where the customer expressly requests a different and more costly mode of delivery and terminates the contract, the said difference shall not be returned.

- INCM bears the return postage costs, when the article is damaged or if an error has occurred in its dispatch. In the remaining situations, any return costs shall be borne by the customer.
E. FORMS OF PAYMENT
- The products may be paid through the different electronic means of payment made available, in which case the costs are borne by the customer and charged in the bill of sale. Payment in the INCM online shop can only be made via:
a) Credit card
b) ATM reference
c) MBWAY
Payment by ATM (Multibanco) Reference is exclusive to Portugal. If you choose this payment mode, at the order finalisation, choose the “Multibanco” option. You will then be redirected to a page where you will indicate the data needed to make a payment: the entity, the reference and the amount.
You have 24 hours to make the payment. At the end of this period the order will be cancelled.
MB WAY is a service that allows you to make purchases safely at any online store that accepts VISA, MasterCard brand cards. Instead of actual debit or credit card data, data from a virtual MB NET card is used, generated through the MB WAY app.
All operations and transactions are secured through SIBS and Banco de Portugal. - If the buyer of the products is a holder of INCM Customer Card, he may discount his check offers in the Shop online.
- The check offer cannot be discounted on the value of currency exchange at face value, or on postage costs.
- More than one check offer can be used in the same purchase, provided that the total amount of the purchase is higher.
F. DELIVERY DEADLINE
- Mainland Portugal
Standard delivery via CTT: shipping costs are calculated using the weight of your order, the lowest value being EUR3.14, which applies to orders from 0 kg to 2 kg.
In Mainland Portugal, orders are usually delivered from 3 (three) to 5 (five) working days after the payment date.
Our deliveries are sent through CTT Express and delivered by hand.
In case the first delivery does not materialise, the Customer may schedule a second delivery with the CTT. In the absence of such contact, a second delivery attempt shall be made; in case it does not materialise the product is returned to our services. - Madeira and Azores
Standard delivery via CTT: shipping costs are calculated using the weight of your order, the lowest value being EUR8.33, which applies to orders from 0 kg to 2 kg.
In the Autonomous Regions, depending on the Islands, the delivery time may vary from 3 (three) to 8 (eight) working days. - Rest of the World
Carriers vary depending on the country of destination: shipping costs are calculated by the weight of your order and the country of destination. - Collection Points

You can pick up your order at one of our stores. By choosing this option, your order is free of shipping costs. Your order will be available for collection, at the selected store, 5 working days after your payment, and to pick it up it is required to present the proper identification.
Important: Delivery times may suffer changes and delays according to external factors such as holidays, weekends, festive dates (Black Friday, Christmas Season, Easter, among others), time zones and country laws (customs), among others. If there is a delivery attempt and the recipient is absent, this may also delay delivery.
G. REGISTRATION AT THE ONLINE SHOP
- Individual registration at the online shop is made through the Registration option.
- This registration allows an easier purchasing process, with the recording of the Customer’s identification data, allowing an immediate recognition of it, without the need for further typing.
- The Customer may update his personal data online whenever he makes a purchase at the online shop (except for the purchase of complaint books).
- When registering, you can choose to join the “INCM Customer Card” program, with all associated benefits, which can be consulted at the Customer Card Membership point.
- Access is restricted to each Customer and assured by the use of a login and a password that should be altered on the first login.
- This information is sent to the Customer’s e-mail to allow the confidentiality and its further utilisation is the sole responsibility of the user.
- Associated with your registration you will receive information about marketing campaigns and about our newsletter in the e-mail you provided. The option for any marketing and disclosure information to be removed from the mailing list shall be available.
H. COMPLAINTS
- The Customer has the right to submit his complaints to the Imprensa Nacional – Casa da Moeda, S.A. at any time, within the legal parameters set for that purpose.
- The Customer may submit his complaints by completing the form available in this channel under “Suggestions”, by email to reclamacoes@incm.pt or through the electronic complaint book.
- Normal finishing coins are produced to enter into circulation and obtained with high-speed coining and packaging processes that might induce scratched on the surface due to contact between the coins of each batch. These scratched are not admissible as cause for a complaint. Any other type of defect in these kinds of coins will be subject to specific analysis.
I. TERMS OF ADHERENCE TO THE CUSTOMER CARD
1. ATTRIBUTION AND ISSUE OF THE CARD
- The “INCM Customer” card is granted to all natural or legal persons;
- The card is issued at the customer’s request, by filling out the membership form;
- The application is validated by INCM;
- It may only be used from the day following its validation;
- The attribution of the card number is done automatically and made available immediately, by email or by letter;
- By signing up to the customer card by this means, you will also be registered in our Online Shop and you are given access – login and password – to make your purchases online.
- The Customer Card is virtual and is associated to the purchase whenever you add your taxpayer number.
2. USING THE CARD
- The card can be used for purchases of all INCM products, in bookstores and in the online store of INCM’s website, with the exception of: publications and payment of advertisements; Assay Office products; Complaints Book; Endorsements; Electronic Complaint Book Modules; and coins exchanged at face value;
- Sales of discount products not covered by this scheme are not considered for the purposes of the ‘INCM Customer’ card;
- The cardholder is entitled to a check-offer of 18,75 EUR for each purchase volume of 375 EUR excluding VAT, accumulated within a period of less than 1 year.
3. CHECK OFFERS
- Check offers account for 5 % of the total value of the sale and are allocated for each amount of accumulated purchases of EUR 375;
- The check offer is sent to the address of the customer’s residence or sent to the email associated with the account created in the Shop;
- Each check offer has a maximum validity of 12 months after the date of issue;
- If the buyer of the products is a holder of the INCM “Customer Card”, he may discount his check offers in the Shop online and in the physical stores of INCM;
- The check offers cannot be discounted on the following: the value of currency exchange at face value; payment of postage costs; purchase of a Complaints Book; purchase of endorsements; purchase of Electronic Complaint Modules and the payment of advertisements;
- More than one check offer can be used in the same purchase, provided that the total amount of the purchase is higher than the value of the check-offer.
4. OTHER PRIVILEGES
- In addition to discounts, the holders of the customer card will also benefit from:
- Specific promotion campaigns for cardholders;
- Information in due time, through the email associated to their registration, on the marketing of INCM products.
J. PRIVACY AND SECURITY POLICY
- INCM collects personal data from the customer with the purpose of managing the Customers’ account, billing, providing information, according to the express authorisation for this effect, making a commitment to privacy and security in processing and maintaining each customer’s personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD), Regulation (EU) 2016/679, according to information provided on our website.
- The whole payment process, from the selection of the means of payment to the introduction of data inherent to the order’s payment process is duly protected through physical and logical procedures, as well as by the application of information security practices inherent to its activity.
K. APPLICABLE LAW AND COMPETENT JURISDICTION
- These “Terms and Conditions” are governed by Portuguese law.
- The resolution of disputes arising from this contract falls under the jurisdiction of the District of Lisbon, with express waiver of any other.
